About Us
During a visit to Guyana in April 2006, Patrick and Paul Haynes met with former teammates and coaches whilst attending a basketball game at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Guyana where they observed that the game of basketball and the Sports Hall had literally deteriorated. This prompted the brothers to do something for the game, hence the establishment of the Haynes Foundation, which is a registered nonprofit public charity of New Jersey, USA and is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) within the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) of the United States of America.
The specific purposes of the Haynes
Foundation are to:
• Support activities to address important social issues in
the development of sports and education in
Guyana and USA through fundraising and grants;
• Delivering sports clinics for student athletes in Guyana
and USA;
• Build and renovate recreational community centers;
• Foster youth-serving programs to support education, youth
and family development;
• Foster youth-serving programs to support food and
nutrition issues;
• Raise the awareness of AIDS/HIV/STDs prevention and
Teenage Pregnancy;
• Provide clothing, shoes and grooming for under privilege children
and Orphanages;
• Deliver health and educational workshops to at risk
children;
• Provide college scholarships for students in Guyana and
USA and
• Provide services and prevention programs through school
base services to prevent drug and alcohol
abuse, Teenage
Pregnancy, academic drop out, crime and delinquency.
